Day 01 Arrival in Mumbai
In the arrival lounge at Mumbai International airport, a Pearl Holidays representative will be waiting to escort you to the Oberoi Hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 02 Discover Mumbai
After breakfast you visit the Elephanta Caves (closed on Mondays) – by boat to a small island about an hour's boat-ride from the Gateway to India. These caves are a depiction of Hindu Gods, intricately sculptured. They were built between the 5th and 8th century. In the afternoon you visit the the Gateway of India, landmark of Mumbai, constructed in 1927 to commemorate Emperor George V's visit to the State, the first reigning monarch ever to see India. Next you drive through Hanging Gardens (now known as Sir K.P. Mehta Gardens), where the old English art of topiary is practiced. You continue your tour to the Dhobi Ghat, an open-air laundry, where washmen physically clean and iron hundreds of items of clothing. Next you visit Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (known as Victoria Terminus) & the Prince of Wales Museum (closed on Monday).
Day 03 Mumbai / Chennai (By Flight 9W 338 : 0900 / 1045 hrs)
: Chennai – Mahabalipuram (Approx 2 ½ hrs drive)
After breakfast our representative will escort you to the airport to board the flight for Chennai. On arrival at Chennai airport, you will be met by our representative and you proceed straight to Mahabalipuram. En route you visit Dakshinchitra , located on the East Coast Road at Muttukadu – 21 kms South of Chennai. Dakshinchitra is an exciting cross cultural living museum of art, architecture, lifestyles, crafts and the performing arts of South India. You can explore 17 heritage houses, amble along recreated streetscapes, explore contextual exhibitions, interact with typical village artisans and witness folk performances set in an authentic ambience (subject to the schedule).Then you proceed to Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram, also known as Siva Vishnu Kanchi is one of the 7 holiest Hindu cities and famous for its spectacular temples. Many of the temples are the work of the later Cholas and of the Vijayanagar kings. These are spread out all across the city. Kanchipuram is also famous for hand woven silk fabrics. This industry originated during the reign of the Pallavas, when weavers were employed to produce fabrics for kings. You continue your journey to Mahabalipuram and on arrival you check in to the Taj Fisherman Cove. For the rest of the day you can relax on the beach.
Day 04 Mahabalipuarm
After breakfast, you visit Mahabalipuram, famous for shore temples. This was the second capital and sea port of the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram, the first Tamil dynasty of any real consequence to emerge after the fall of the Gupta dynasty. The shore temples built between 5TH and 8TH centuries AD, in particular strike a very romantic theme, and are some of the most photographed monuments in India. The sculpture here is particularly interesting, because it shows scenes from every day life. For the rest of the day you can relax on the beach.
Day 05 Mahabalipuarm – Chennai (Approx 2 ½ hrs drive)
Today you will be driven back to Chennai and on arrival there you check in to Hotel Taj Coromandal. In the afternoon you visit The Fort Museum which has a fascinating collection of momentos and souvenirs from the days of the East India Company and the British Raj. You also visit St. Mary's Church built in 1678-80, which was the first English church and the oldest surviving British construction in India. Next you see theKapaleshwara temple a massive intricately carved Gopuram towering into the sky. Another 8th century shrine, dedicated to Lord Krishna at the Parthasarathy Temple is worth visiting..
Day 06 Depart Mysore, arrive Nagarhole National Park
After breakfast our representative will assist you to the airport to board the flight to Goa via Bangalore. On arrival at Goa you will be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel The Leela where you spend 3 nights. You can spend the day relaxing on the beach.
Day 07 Discover Nagarhole National Park
Relax and enjoy the beaches of Goa.
Day 08 Arrive Bandipur National Park
Relax and enjoy the beaches of Goa.
Day 09 Goa – Mumbai (By Flight 9W 476 : 1335 / 1435 hrs)
You can spend your morning at leisure. In the afternoon, our representative will escort you to the airport to board the flight to Mumbai. . On arrival at Mumbai airport you will be met by our representative and transferred to The Oberoi. You can spend the day relaxing.
Day 10 Depart Mumbai
Today our representative will assist you to the International airport your flight back home
